TINJAUAN ‘URF TERHADAP ADAT WALIGORO SEBAGAI SYARAT KESEMPURNAAN PERNIKAHAN DI DESA PENGUMBULANA DI KABUPATEN LAMONGAN

‘Urf, Waligoro, Perfection

Abstrak

The background of this research is that the people of Pengumbulanadi Village carry out a wedding procession known as Waligoro. The practice of the Waligoro custom is used as a condition for the perfection of marriage, especially those who have Waligoro descendants for prospective brides and grooms before getting married. The community believes that if Waligoro is not made, there will be negative impacts such as difficulty getting sustenance and one of the bride and groom can go crazy. This is a problem considering that the majority of Pengumbulanadi Village people are Muslim, but they believe the Waligoro custom can bring happiness and lasting marriage. The purpose of this study was to analyze the practice of the Waligoro custom as a requirement for marriage perfection in Pengumbulanadi Village, Lamongan Regency and to analyze ‘urf review of the Waligoro custom as a condition for marriage perfection in Pengumbulanadi Village, Lamongan Regency. The research method used is an empirical research type, and with a sociological approach. The research data was generated through interviews and book reviews. While data collection techniques using observation, interviews, and documentation. Furthermore, it was analyzed through four stages, namely: data reduction, data validation, data classification, and data analysis. The results of this research and discussion show that the Waligoro custom is a tradition inherited from the ancestors which is still being carried out by the people of Pengumbulanadi Village. Waligoro custom needs to be reviewed further by using the elements of 'urf.
