Low birth weight (LBW) is a baby born weighing less than 2500 grams regardless of gestation. Maternal age is one of the factors that influence the mother's health status during pregnancy. Statistically, there is 90% incidence of low birth weight babies (LBW) found in developing countries and the mortality rate is 35 times higher than in infants with birth weight more than 2500 grams. This can happen and can be influenced by several factors such as the mother having a disease that is directly related to pregnancy, and the mother's age. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between maternal age and LBW incidence. This type of research is an analytic observational study with across sectional design. The sampling technique used purposive sampling technique. The measuring instrument used is a medic record. The results obtained showed that the incidence of LBW from 138 respondents mostly occurred at the age of 20-35 years as many as 85 respondents (61.6%). The conclusion of this study is that maternal age is not a major factor in the occurrence of low birth weight babies (LBW).
