PENGARUH VARIASI JARAK TANAM DAN VARIETAS TERHADAP PERTUMBUHAN DAN HASIL TANAMAN JAGUNG MANIS (Zea Mays Saccharata Sturt)

Abstract

Sweet corn (Zea mays saccharata Sturt) is the third most important food crop after wheat, and rice. Sweet corn crops require proper agricultural cultivation so that they can support growth and maximum yields. To maintain the yield of sweet corn, it is necessary to use the right planting distance and the use of appropriate varieties needs to be known so that the yield remains stable. This study aims to determine the appropriate planting distance in each variety of sweet corn plants. The research was conducted in April – June 2022, in the rice field area of Kunjang village, Ngancar district, Kediri regency. The research method used was a randomized group design (RAK) consisting of two factors with 4 repeats. The first factor is that the planting distance consists of 3 levels, namely planting distances of 40 cm x 25 cm, 60 cm x 25 cm, 80 cm x 25 cm. The second factor is that the variety consists of 2 levels, namely the talent variety and bonanza. The data obtained from the observed variables were analyzed using fingerprint analysis (ANOVA). If the results of fingerprint analysis have a real effect, then continue with the BNT (Smallest Real Difference) test at a level of 5%. The results showed that the interaction of planting distance and variety had a significant effect on the parameters of plant height, number of leaves, length of the cob, weight of the cob with weight, weight of cobs without clots and yield per hectare. Where in the spacing treatment 80 cm x 25 cm is best for growth with the Talent variety but at the planting distance treatment 40 cm x 25 cm has the highest yield with the Bonanza variety.
