Peran Kecerdasan Emosional dalam Mempengaruhi Hasil Belajar Matematika Dasar Pada Mahasiswa Teknik Elektro

Emotional intelligence is the ability to motivate oneself, overcome frustration, control impulses and the ability to work together. With high emotional intelligence students are able to bounce back quickly from a downturn or failure to achieve achievements, students have the skills to interact with others, students are able to regulate emotions to achieve goals and students are proficient in leading discussions. These abilities are able to optimize student learning outcomes, especially in basic mathematics courses. The purpose of this study was to determine the role of emotional intelligence in influencing the basic mathematics learning outcomes of electrical engineering students at Hasyim Asy'ari Tebuireng University, Jombang. This research is a quantitative research. The population in this study were all electrical engineering students and by using the purposive sampling technique, a sample of 52 students was obtained. Data analysis in this study used one-way analysis of variation with different cells. The results of this study indicate that emotional intelligence has a significant effect on the learning outcomes of basic mathematics electrical engineering students. Where the basic mathematics learning outcomes of electrical engineering students who have a high level of emotional intelligence are better than the basic mathematics learning outcomes of electrical engineering students who have moderate and low levels of emotional intelligence, as well as the basic mathematics learning outcomes of electrical engineering students who have a moderate level of emotional intelligence are better compared to the mathematics learning outcomes of students who have a low level of emotional intelligence.
