Abstract

The low mathematics learning outcomes of students are influenced by the ability to understand students mathematical concepts and the assigment of assignments given by the teacher. This study aims to determine the mathematics learning outcomes who are given assignments in groups and given assignments indivually and to find out significant differences in mathematics learning outcomes between students who are given assignments in groups and students who are assigned individually. This research is a Quasi Experimental Design with Nonequivalent Control Group Design. Samples were for this study was taken from the entire population of class VII Wahidiyah Jember middle shcool totaling 12 students. Data collection of observation , documentation and tests. Data analysis used is descriptive statistics and inferential statistics. The results of the analysis of the descriptive data showed that students in class VII SMP Gumukmas had an average initial score of 41,83 and an average post-test score of 83,33. Meanwhile, class VII of SMP Ambulu had an average initial score of 41,67 and an average post-test score of 74,17. Meanwhile, the results of the t test analysis was obtained tcount (1,254) and the sig. 0,239 > 0,05, so H0 is accepted and H1 is rejected. Thus it can be concluded that there are differences in student mathematics learning outcomes betweens students who are given group assignment and students who are given individual assignment in class VII SMP Wahidiyah Jember on comparative material.
