Abstract

This study aims to determine differences in learning outcomes between classes using STAD Cooperative Learning Type and Direct Learning. This research was conducted at Wahidiyah Kediri Middle School on May 10, 2017. The research method used was experimental. The research instrument used was the instrument of learning outcomes and was tested through the t-test statistic. From the calculation results, the value of t-count for the test results in the experimental class is 2,378 while the t-table is at a significance level of α 5%, then the value of the α indicated in table t
is 1.665, so that the t-count is obtained (2.337 ≥ 1.665) so H0 rejected. Based on the data obtained, the average student learning outcomes in the experimental class was 81.33 while the average student learning outcomes in the control class was 73.93. Therefore it is clear that there are differences in learning outcomes between the experimental class and the control class. This shows that STAD type cooperative learning can improve mathematics learning outcomes on the subject matter of the relationship between angles and the relationship of angular magnitudes on two parallel lines.
