Abstract

This research aims to improve the ability of visual-spatial intelligence by utilizing inorganic waste materials. This type of research is a Class Action Research conducted collaboratively between researchers and classroom teachers. This research consists of two cycles and each cycle is held twice. The study subjects were 9 children consisting of 11 boy and 10 girls Data collection techniques through observation and documentation. The instrument used was an observation sheet (check list). The data analysis technique was carried out in a descriptive qualitative and quantitative manner. An indicator of the success of this study is when the percentage calculation shows that 75% of children experience an increase in visual-spatial intelligence. The results showed that there was an increase in visual-spatial intelligence after learning through making art skills using media inorganic waste materials increased. The results of observations on the Pre-Action show that the value of students' mastery learning only reaches a% in the implementation of the Cycle I action, increasing to b%. After the Cycle II action, children with very good development criteria increased to 86.86%. The steps taken to improve children's visual-spatial intelligence were the teacher invites children to make art skills using inorganic waste materials. Based on the description above, it can be concluded that through the activity of making media from inorganic waste materials could improve visual-spatial intelligence in children.
