MENGEMBANGKAN KEMAMPUAN KOGNITIF DALAM MENGENAL ANGKA MENGGUNAKAN MEDIA BATOK KELAPA RAHASIA PADA ANAK KELOMPOK A SEMESTER II DI TK WAHIDIYAH KECAMATAN PAKISAJI KABUPATEN MALANG TAHUN AJARAN 2019/2020

Abstract

Early  childhood  is  an  age  group  that  is  in  a  unique  development  process,  because  the  process  of  development (growth and development) occurring together with the golden age (sensitive period) is the most appropriate time to provide strong provisions to children. Cognitive potential is inherited from birth or is a hereditary factor that will determine the limits of the development of the level of intelligence (maximum limits). Increasing the ability to recognize number symbols in children by inviting children to think logically, by being invited to play. Cognitive abilities in group A TK Wahidiyah, Pakisaji District, Malang Regency have not developed well. This study aims to develop children's cognitive abilities through playing secret coconut shell media. This research is a classroom action research. The research subjects were 22 students in group A. The object of this study was the children's cognitive abilities. The data collection technique was done by observing, interviewing and documenting. The instrument used was the observation instrument sheet. The data analysis technique was carried out with the success indicators applied, namely 75% of the 22 students had cognitive abilities. This research was conducted in two cycles. The results showed that the cognitive abilities in group A at the pre-cycle stage were 22.72% of the children began to develop, in the first cycle as much as 40.9% of the indicators mentioned the numbers they got when playing secret coconut shell media and 54.54% in the indicators of issuing numbers from secret coconut shell media. And in the second cycle, 77.27% of the indicators mentioned the numbers they got when playing secret coconut shell media and 81.81% in the indicators of removing numbers from secret coconut shells. Acquisition cycle II proves that this study has achieved indicators of success, namely children's cognitive abilities have increased ≥75%. Therefore, playing secret coconut shells can be used as a medium to develop children's cognitive abilities.
