Abstract

Language  ability  is  a  basic  ability  in  developing  children's  speech  processes  by  recognizing words  and  utterances  that sound  from  people  around  them.  One  of  the  media  that  can  develop  language  skills  is  the  fairy  tale  "Monkey  and  Fish" which  contains  simple  conversation  invitations  and  interactions  between  friends  and  the  surrounding  environment. The fairy  tale  "Monkey  and  Fish"  is  a  medium  that  can  motivate  children  to  do  something,  namely  interact  and  talk.  The purpose  of  this  study  was  to  find  out  how  the  fairy  tale  "Monkey  and  Fish"  is  applied  to  Group  B  Semester  II  TK Wahidiyah,  Rambipuji  District,  Jember  Regency,  Academic  Year  2022/2023.  The  approach  used  in  this  study  is  a qualitative  approach,  while  the  type  of  research  is  descriptive.  The  research  design  used  was  classroom  action  research (PTK). This research data collection techniques are observation, interviews and documentation. The results showed that research  in  cycle  I  and  cycle  II  using  the  storytelling  "Monkey  and  Fish"  as  media  could  improve  the  language development  of  children  in  Group  B  Semester  II  TK  Wahidiyah  Rambipuji  Academic Year  2022/2023.  Therefore,  the storytelling media "Monkey and Fish" can be used by educators as a learning medium.
